Aasim Ahmad is Honorary Senior Lecturer and Director of the Masters in Bioethics at the Aga Khan University, Karachi. Dr Ahmad is also Dean and Chief Nephrologist at the Kidney Centre, Karachi, Pakistan. In addition to his medical work, Dr Ahmad teaches Bioethics at the undergraduate, graduate and Master degree levels.

Sriyakanthi Beneragama is an Epidemiologist and Community Health specialist. Dr Beneragama works on the National STD/AIDS Control Programme at the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka, and is also a Member of the Ethics Review Committee in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Colombo.

Anant Bhan is an independent researcher in bioethics and public health based in India. His work involves trainings in bioethics, as well as research on ethical, social and cultural issues in health biotechnology for the developing world. Dr Bhan's main area of interest is global/public health ethics and research ethics.

Leonardo D. De Castro is Professor of Philosophy at the University of the Philippines. Dr Castro is presently Director of the National and Regional Outreach Programme at the Centre of Biomedical Ethics, National University of Singapore.

Theresia Citraningtyas is a general practitioner from the One-Stop Crisis Centre, Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Jakarta. She has lectured at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) and currently gives lectures at the Australian National University, where she is undertaking her PhD in Psychological Medicine on people's experiences of strength in disaster.

Sarath Edirisingha is Director of the Health Emergency Disaster Management Training Centre and Consultant in the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

Buddhika Fernando is an Academic and a member of the Ethics committee at the Institute of Research and Development (IRD), Colombo, the leading research based institution in Sri Lanka. She is a dental surgeon, attorney at law and a chartered financial analyst. Her research interests lie primarily in the legal and ethical aspects of healthcare and healthcare delivery, health finance, and with a special focus on the role economic disparity plays on the fulfilment of healthcare needs of women in Sri Lanka.

Raja Goonertne is Senior Lecturer in Law at the Open University of Sri Lanka and an attorney at law. He obtained LL.B (Hon) from University of Colombo and LL.M from Monash University, Australia. He is also a diploma holder in forensic medicine. He has a keen interest in conducting research in bioethics, human rights, law and medicine. He is also a resource person of the Institute for Research and Development.

Helen Herrman is Professor of Psychiatry at Orygen Youth Health Research Centre, Centre for Youth Mental Health, University of Melbourne, and Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for mental health in Melbourne. She is Secretary for Publications for the World Psychiatric Association.

Aamir Jafarey is based at Centre of Biomedical Ethics and Culture, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, Pakistan. Dr Jafarey teaches bioethics at the Centre and serves Lecturer and Consultant General Surgeon at the Aga Khan University, Karachi.

Chandrani Jayasekera is Deputy Director of the National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), Sri Lanka and studied Bioethics at Monash University, Australia.

Nandini Kumar is Former Deputy Director General of the Division of Basic Medical Sciences, Indian Council of Medical Research, and Co-investigator of the NIH project at the National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai. She is member of the Forum for Ethics Review Committees in Asia Pacific (FERCAP), and the Steering Committee of the "Forum for Ethics Review Committee in India" (FERCI).

Elspeth Macdonald is Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Mental Health Research, College of Medicine, Biology and Environment, Australian National University. She has a longstanding interest in engaging with community members as stakeholders in research, and has worked closely with Indigenous communities and marginalised groups.

Darryl Macer is Regional Adviser in Social and Human Sciences for Asia and the Pacific for UNESCO.

Syed Mamun Mahmud is Assistant Professor and Consultant Urologist in the Department of Urology, Ziauddin Medical University Hospital, Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan. Dr Mahmud trained in Bioethics at Sidh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), Karachi, Pakistan, and is a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Pakistan Medical Ethics.
