TWO ANNOUNCEMENTS— The Editor takes pleasure in announcing completion of anangements for the latest in this journal's series of issues devoted to specific Civil War topics. Featured as the subject of next year's special number will be the navies of the Great Conflict. We are honored to have obtained as guest editor Mr. V. C. "Pat" Jones, who turns to this assignment fresh from completing the third volume of his monumental project, The Civil War at Sea. As tentatively scheduled, the special navy issue wdl include articles by Charles L. "Pie" Dufour, Richard S. West, Jr., William N. Still, and others whose fields of research have encompassed the naval war. Look for this in mid-1963. O O O We also are pleased to announce that a complete back file of Civil War History, including volumes long out of stock, wdl be avadable within a year. The publisher's inability to fulfül the many requests for old issues has led to an agreement for the reprinting of Volumes I through Vl (1955-1960). Reproduction will be by offset, with each year's set of four issues to be bound and sold as a unit. The small quantity of individual copies remaining for a few of these years, meanwhile, wül continue to be sold. The publisher has also placed in production a long-planned comprehensive index to the first five years of this journal, which will greatly enhance the usefulness of the reprinted volumes.
