Editors' Note This issue includes four articles on the theme of"Globalization and Transformation in Contemporary Korean Society," edited by Michael Robinson. The articles are based on papers delivered at a summer workshop held in June 2005 at the Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center at Stanford University. We are grateful to Professor Robinson for convening the workshop and for serving as guest editor for this issue.
