An odd calling,this deepening into solitudethat some think strangepsychic sickness.But it is to me a coolnessin the midday heat of life,relief from all that came before.

And I feel deep kinshipwith these little, gray birdson these stones, by this stream,stones the color they are,protecting them,burbling cooling sprayin which they bathe and play.
