  • RSVP Bibliography:2007-2009
  • Alexis Easley (bio)

The RSVP Bibliography includes citations for essays and books published in the field of Victorian journalism between December 2007 and December 2009. A team of thirty-four contributors surveyed over one hundred journals and databases, carefully selecting entries focused on the role of journalism in British culture, 1837-1901. The bibliography concentrates on the newspaper and periodical press in Great Britain and the British Empire with some attention to transatlanticism. This year we added our first online journal to the bibliography: Nineteenth-Gender Studies.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to those who contributed to the bibliography; it was truly a pleasure working with all of you. I am also grateful to Kitty Ledbetter, editor of VPR, who was an invaluable resource during the editing and production phases of this project.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kathy Malone of Temple University will be taking over as RSVP bibliographer this year. As a longtime contributor to the bibliography, Kathy brings a wealth of expertise and enthusiasm to this position. We are fortunate to have such an accomplished bibliographer on board! Kathy has mentioned to me that she is eager to hear your thoughts on how to make the bibliography more useful to members of RSVP and to the scholarly community more generally. Please feel free to contact her with corrections, additions, and comments. If you are interested in contributing to the 2009-2011 bibliography, please contact Kathy for details: kmalone@temple.edu.
