In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

Bulletin of the Comediantes • 2008 Vol.60 No.1 vii Editor’s Note This number of Bulletin of the Comediantes marks a point of transition. Professor José Antonio Madrigal of Auburn University, who has been managing editor of the journal for some thirty years, is moving toward retirement. I know that my predecessor James A. Parr would join me in praise of the tireless efforts and dedication of Tony Madrigal. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with him. We thank him for his invaluable contributions to BCom and, by way of his impressive scholarship, to the profession. We send him and his wife Angie, who also has played a key role in the production of the journal, our gratitude and our very best wishes for the future. We are happy to announce that the new managing editor—beginning with this number—is Professor Vincent Martin, associate professor of Spanish at the University of Delaware. Vince is a recognized Comedia scholar, with a special focus on Calderón, the subject of two of his books. He is the author of numerous essays and several editions, and he is an award-winning teacher. We appreciate his willingness to accept this task, and we look forward to his collaboration. We thank the University of Delaware for its support, just as we thank Auburn University for its support over the years. Ms. Connee McKinney, the editorial coordinator in the Publications Office at the University of Delaware, deserves special recognition for her time and effort on behalf of the Bulletin of the Comediantes. As always, we welcome submissions in the fields of early modern peninsular and colonial Latin American theater. E.H.F. FLLComediantesFINAL08_60.indd 7 8/13/08 11:01:39 AM ...
