Abstract
This note on El burlador de Sevilla attempts a thorough analysis of a specific repeated phrase containing the synonymously redundant verbs 'abrasar' and 'quemar.' An attempt is made to tie the special formulaic properties of the phrase to fundamental themes and positions taken by Tirso de Molina in the famous play. (AR & ES)
