restricted access Parent-Infant Education in Schools for Deaf Children: Results of CEASD Survey

This report presents the results of a nationwide survey of schools for deaf persons regarding their programming for parent-infant (P-I) education. Widespread involvement was demonstrated: 94 schools (88% of the respondents) reported programs for 1,901 hearing-impaired children 0 to 4 years—44 schools with both on-campus and home-based instruction, 44 with school-based only, and 6 with home-based only. Data summarized include the extent and location of these P-I programs, student characteristics, early background, characteristics of both school- and home-based programs, evaluation, and program variants.
