Abstract

In our primary classroom, the class news and other language are easily entered and enjoyably practiced on the keyboard of a microcomputer. The computer makes a file tape which is ready to use immediately with a drill program. After the student hears, sees, and says each sentence, it is scrambled. Then each word appears in the correct order as the student types its first letter. Each correctly completed sentence brings beeps, music, visual praise, and points. If a printer is used, a take-home sheet is made.

The file tapes are also used with other programs; therefore a variety of language is drilled in different ways. We have found this method efficient and continually motivating.
