Identification of the Mentally Gifted Minor Deaf Child in the Public School System

This article was written because of numerous inquiries received by the authors concerning the identification of mentally gifted deaf. The interest arose following a statement which appeared in the April 1977 Directory issue of the American Annals of the Deaf to the effect that we were conducting a project entitled, "Search for Mentally Gifted Minor Deaf." It is hoped the information which follows will be helpful to those who have expressed an interest in this area.
