Comments Seventy-one percent of the respondents reported that Annals was the professional journal most frequently read (13% Volta, 16% choices other than those listed). Administrators (n = 10) of programs for the hearing impaired read Annals more frequently (90%) than Volta (40%) or Teaching English to the Deaf (20%). Teachers of hearing-impaired students (n = 20) also reported reading Annals more frequently (85%) than Volta (20%). School counselors (w = 3) working with hearing-impaired students read Annals as a second choice (100%) to other professional journals (e.g., Journal of Rehabilitation of the Deaf, Deaf American). JSHD and JSHR were read as second and third choices by about half the respondents, while The National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) journal was read only as a fourth or fifth choice by about 11% of the participants.
