Abstract

Many classroom teachers now have access to microcomputers in their schools. The use of computers in classrooms varies from very appropriate activities to nothing more than a time filler for students. This paper describes 15-hour workshops designed for educators in special as well as regular education programs who have had little or no previous computer experience. The intent of the workshop is to provide participants with a wide range of experiences in the use of microcomputers in the classroom and to develop a general understanding of the value of computers in working with children in schools.
