The Gospels present an early layer of material showing us a thoroughly Jewish Jesus while they also show us a later layer indicating that the Jews are doomed and have lost their chance for redemption by denying the resurrection of Christ. Matthew 28:15 talks about the Jews spreading rumors up until the time of the Gospel writer that the resurrection was a hoax. Note well the separation between Jews and Christians is sharp—the Jews.
