ARIZONA 85281 DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS AND ASSISTANTSHIPS A number of scholarships and Teaching Assistantships and Associateships are available at Arizona State University for the academic year 1981-1982. Graduate Tuition Scholarships waive the out-of-state tuition and Graduate Academic Scholarships waive the in-state fees. A limited number of Graduate Fellowships is available. These carry waiver of all tuition and fees and a stipend of $5.000.00. Teaching Assistantships (MA level) carry waiver of out-of-state tuition and a stipend of $5,700.00. Teaching Associateships (PhD level) carry waiver of out-of-state tuition and a stipend of $6,100.00 [this stipend becomes $6,500 at the ABD stage!. Teaching Assistants and Associates are expected to teach two sections of freshman composition each semester and to enroll in at least two graduate courses each semester.
