EDITOR'S FENCE 1. Special Series Number _3 Dedicated to Hal Gerber: In the fall of this year, ELT will publish a collection of essays on a variety of Transtion authors, among whom are Thomas Hardy, Oscar Wilde, George Moore, Walter Pater, Joseph Conrad, John Galsworthy, G. B. Shaw, H. G. Wells, and Morley Roberts. Skip Brack will also contribute a biographical reminiscence of Hal Gerber. This Special Series Number _3 publication is dedicated to ELT's founding editor and financed in part by contributions to the H. E. Gerber Memorial Fund. Our belated but sincere tribute to Hal is not included in the regular ELT run. Since only a limted number of copies of the Special Series issue will be printed, advance orders are now being accepted. Please send a check to make certain a copy is reserved for you: $10 (U.S.) and $12 (Foreign). 2. Kipling Issues: Papers for the Kipling issues (Spring 1986) are still being accepted. Scholars should address the original essay and one copy, with sufficient return postage, to ELT no later than 1 September 1985. We welcome a wide range of topics on Kipling's writing. 3.
