Abstract

This article presents a Brazilian biographical bibliography primarily on memorialismo, a genre encompassing memoirs, autobiographies and collected reminiscenses that has been flourishing since the 1930's and 40's. The introductory essay discusses the two main types of memoirs prevalent in Brazil-literary and historical-and also describes other biographical narratives. This bibliography is a sampling of the diversity and range of biographical publications coming forth from Brazil and represents an attempt at a first compilation of this nature.
