Judith Rollins (jrollins@wellesley.edu), professor of Sociology and Africana Studies at Wellesley College, has published articles on the Women’s Movement, the Civil Rights Movement, and the social psychology of domination. Her most recent article, “And the Last Shall be First: The Master-slave Dialectic in Hegel, Nietzche and Fanon,” was published in Human Architecture: Journal of the Sociology of Self- Knowledge (2007). In addition, she is the author of All is Never Said: The Narrative of Odette Harper Hines (1995) and Between Women: Domestics and Their Employers (1985), which received the Jessie Bernard Award of the American Sociological Association.
Jérôme Pruneau (pruneau.j@orange.fr) est maître de conférences à l’U.F.R. S.T.A.P.S. de l’université des Antilles et de la Guyane, membre du laboratoire A.C.T.E.S. (Adaptation Climat Exercice et Societé). Il intervenient également au C.E.R.C. (Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches Caribéennes). Il est l’auteur en 2003 de l’ouvrage Les Joutes languedociennes. Ethnologie d’un «sport traditionnel», Paris, L’Harmattan.
Stéphanie Melyon-Reinette (smr_3@hotmail.com) est doctorante sous la direction du Professeur Davidas (Université des Antilles et de la Guyane). Elle est membre du C.R.I.L.L.A.S.H. (EA 4095).
Danielle Agnès (danielle.agnes@wanadoo.fr) est doctorante sous la direction de Jean Luc Bonniol (I.D.E.M.E.C. Aix-Marseille) et co-dirigée para Jérôme Pruneau. Elle est membre du C.E.R.C. (Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches Caribéennes).
José M. Aguilera Manzano (jose.manzano@eui.eu) is Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholar at the Department of History, Florida International University, and Assistant Professor at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spain. He gained his Ph.D. at the University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, in 2005. He is author of the book La formación de la identidad cubana (La polémica Saco-La Sagra), CSIC, 2005 and several articles: “Europe and Colonialism During the Liberal Revolutions,” European University Institute Review; “Liberal Havanan Currents Through the Periodic Publications of the First Half of the Nineteenth Century,” Cuban Studies; “Political Use of the Epidemic of Cholera in Havana,” Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, among others.
José Gomariz (jgomariz@fsu.edu) es Profesor Asociado de Literatura Hispanoamericana en la Universidad del Estado de Florida. Sus publicaciones sobre el siglo XIX incluyen Colonialismo e independencia [End Page 339] cultural (Verbum 2005), ensayos sobre José Martí, autor sobre el cual prepara un futuro estudio monográfico, y artículos sobre la diáspora africana en Cuba y en el Caribe, asunto del libro en el que trabaja actualmente.
Michael Zeuske (michael.zeuske@uni-koeln.de). Historiador y profesor titular de las Universidades de Leipzig (1992–1993) y Colonia (Universität zu Köln, 1993-presente). Ha realizado investigaciones en Cuba, el Caribe, Venezuela, Colombia, Estados Unidos, Francia, Inglaterra y España sobre temas de esclavitud, mundo atlántico, historia del saber, micro/macrohistoria, independencias, historia colonial e historiografía.
