When the last of the sun is spent resting at the momen t of descent
as if to say this is the color of things,
who will witness this solemnity? What will take its place, suspended
there in the tightness of hours, while the sea chips at its light
stuffing it into the deep randomness of blue pockets?
It is often called Sol to remind us that at the moment
of our own setting, we too will change the color of things. [End Page 161]
