Who wants to read your papers, and how do you make sure that other scholars do so? The offprint or reprint, either printed, photocopied, or in electronic format (PDF), is the focused way for any academic author to reach their target audience. While printed offprints may be expensive, many journals continue to provide at least some for free. The PDF has seen a revitalization of the offprint, reducing authors’ costs and making papers widely available from multiple sources on the World Wide Web.
