  • The Basil Lanneau Gildersleeve Prize 2008 Award

The Gildersleeve Prize of $1,000 is awarded annually by The Johns Hopkins University Press to the author of the best article published in the Journal each year as judged by a panel of scholars appointed by the Director of the Press. Members of the Editorial Board and the Editorial Staff and employees of The Johns Hopkins University Press are not eligible for the award.

Judges for the 2008 Gildersleeve Prize Competition will be Professor Elaine Fantham (Princeton University), Professor David Porter (Williams College), and Professor Donald J. Mastronarde (University of California at Berkeley).
