  • Research Fellowships Available

In order to encourage criticism and scholarship in the field of children's literature, the Children's Literature Association awards at least two research fellowships each year.

The fellowships are awarded to members of ChLA for proposals dealing with criticism or original scholarship with the expectation that the research undertaken will lead to publication and make a significant contribution to the field of children's literature. The awards, which range from $250 to $1000, may be used for transportattion, living expenses, materials and supplies, but not for obtaining advanced degrees, for creative writing, for textbook writing, or pedagogical projects.

The deadline for proposals is December 1, 1981 and the winners will be announced at the spring conference of the ChLA. For complete guidelines, please write Carol Gay, ChLA Scholarship and Awards Committee Department of English Youngstown State University Youngstown, OHIO 44555
