Conference '77 Excels

Delegates to the fourth annual conference of the Children's Literature Association held at Eastern Michigan University were treated to a program of academic discussion and enjoyable socializing which seemed to meet with their approval. The three-day conference presented seven speakers who discoursed on a range of subjects broad enough to appeal to all but the most esoteric interest.

The Conference, under the leadership of chairperson Alethea Helbig, was the first to be held in the midwest and exceeded all expectations in terms of attendance and participation, as guests from all parts of the U.S. and Canada turned out in strength. Because of the wealth of material presented, this issue of the newsletter is devoting a special section of detailed reports which starts on page 6.
