Announcements THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR VALUE INQUIRY The organizational meeting of the American Society for Value Inquiry was held on May 7, 1970 in St. Louis as a part of the Western Division meeting of the A.P.A. The purpose of this new inter-disciplinary organization is the advancement of the study of values. The Society is expected to have some formal relationship with The Journal of Value Inquiry. Membership is open to professionals in all disciplines concerned with the study of value. The next meeting of the group will be in association with the Western Division meeting of the A.P.A. on May 6-8, 1971 in Chicago. The following officers were elected: President, John W. Davis; PresidentElect , Robert S. Hartman; Secretary-Treasurer, James B. Wilbur. Dues for 19701971 are $5.00, to be sent to the treasurer at State University College at Geneseo, Geneseo, New York 14454. 1971 INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS FOR LOGIC, METHODOLOGY AND PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE The Fourth International Congress for Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science will be held in Bucharest, Romania, from 29 August to 4 September 1971, under the auspices of the International Union for History and Philosophy of Science.
