Editor's Note

With this issue we welcome Professor Robert P. Marzec as the new Associate Editor of MFS. Robert joins Purdue's English Department this year as an associate professor. He is the author of An Ecological and Postcolonial Study of Literature: From Daniel Defoe to Salman Rushdie (Palgrave Macmillan 2007) and is currently working on a book project tentatively titled "Fault Lines: The Struggle for Inhabitancy in a Postcolonial World." Robert will be editing a special issue of MFS in 2008. The call for papers for "Modern Fiction and the Ecological" can be found at the back of this issue.

I would like to thank my colleagues Professors William J. Palmer and Maren Linett for all their help last year screening essays. Without their support, the operation of the journal would have suffered.
