The International Berkeley Society is pleased to announce a group meeting to be held conjointly with the Eastern Division meetings of the American Philosophical Society, which will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Washington, D.C. from ~7-3 o December, 1988. The purpose of the meeting is to feature the work of new Berkeley scholars. For additional information contact Professor A. David Kline, Department of Philosophy, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa 5oo~ 1. Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century Philosophy. The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, is pleased to announce a conference on the topic "Ideas: Sensory Experience, Thought, Knowledge and their Objects in Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century Philosophy." The conference will be held on 6- 9 April 1989. Sponsoring and endorsing organizations include the International Berkeley Society, the Hume Society, the Leibniz Society of America, the North American Kant Society, and Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. Scholars are invited to submit papers on topics relating to one or more of the conference themes. Papers should be suitable to be read in 45 minutes or less. Funds will be available to cover at least part of the travelling expenses of those selected to present their papers at the conference.
