Notes on Contributors

John L. Flood is Emeritus Professor of German in the University of London and a Past President of the Bibliographical Society. His many publications include The German Book 1450–1750, edited with W. A. Kelly in 1995, and 'The History of the Book in Germany' in the forthcoming Oxford Companion to the Book. He is currently working on links between the book trade and medical practitioners in sixteenth-century Germany.

John Horden is Professor Emeritus of Bibliographical Studies at the University of Stirling. He was previously Director of the Institute of Bibliography and Textual Criticism at the University of Leeds. His interest in Quarles is of long-standing: his publications include a bibliography in 1953 and various specialist papers, as well as editions of several of Quarles's works. Most recently he has completed a full critical text of Emblemes and Hieroglyphikes.

Randolph Ivy is Professor of English Literature at Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Virginia. For twenty-eight years he has been the resident director of the College's junior-year-abroad program, which is affiliated with the University of Reading.

Pat Rogers , DeBartolo Professor in the Liberal Arts at the University of South Florida, is the author with Paul Baines of Edmund Curll, Bookseller (2007). Together they are compiling a bibliography of Curll's publications. Rogers is the author of The Text of Great Britain (1998) and other studies of Defoe's Tour.
