Abstract
This article provides a close reading of Orly Castel-Blum's story "Ummi fi shurl." The analysis situates Castel-Blum's work within the context of feminist and postmodernist criticism and argues for the ultimate irreducibility of Castel-Blum's work to any singular theoretical lens.
