Recipients of 'Music & Letters' Awards

The Editorial Board has made grants to the following towards costs in connection with the projects indicated: Stuart Campbell for the airfare from Glasgow to San Francisco, where he is giving a paper at the conference 'Scottish Romanticism and World Literatures' in September; Pauline Fairclough towards the cost of enabling Russian scholars to attend a Shostakovich Centenary Conference in Bristol in September/October; Christina Fuhrmann to purchase microfilms for research for a book on Henry Rowley Bishop's opera adaptations; Elizabeth Eva Leach for the photographic reproduction of illustrations for her book Sung Birds: Music, Poetry, and Nature in the Later Middle Ages; Royal Holloway, University of London, towards the costs of illustrations and formatting of The Musical Voyager: Berlioz in Europe.
