"Afterburn: An Afterword to 'The Flying Manuscript'" reflects, in its aftermath, on the seering experience of translating Cixous's essay. Through a close reading of several passages in the text, it seeks to analyze some traits of the Cixousian writing practice as these can best be isolated by the impossible demands that this practice makes on translation.
