On the Cover are four illustrations from Philip Henry Gosse's A Year at the Shore (Alexander Strahan, 1865). The plates "Scallops," "Pearly Nereis—Rainbow Leaf-Worm," and "Granulate Brittle-Star—Sun-Star" appear on the front, while a detail of "Two-Spotted Sucker" appears on the back.

Changes at VS: With this issue, VS welcomes Merry Bartley and Kristina Pittman. Despite her dislike of its early morning hours, Merry Bartley relishes the VS office's abundance of birthday breakfasts and participates in the frequent assertions of Ohio's grandeur amidst the quiet murmurings of cross-reading and editorial commentary. Displays of office wit have spurred her to contribute her own "Merry Devilry," which she reluctantly admits consists of nagging editorial questions rather than clever tricks. She wishes much cheer to all the staff, especially her fellow VS intern, Kristina, who admires her unintentional matching.

Kristina Pittman is a senior majoring in English and Spanish, and by this time next year she would like to be utilizing some of what she has learned in the VS office rather than delivering pizzas. The staff has grown especially fond of the supply of non-GMO flash-frozen orange juice she contributed to birthday festivities as well as her clever birthday cards. As for her, Kristina simply notes that she would like to thank Jennifer, Julie, and Kyle for their grace and brilliance.

As always, Victorian Studies thanks the Indiana University Honors College, without whose generous support our internship program would not be possible.
