International School of Theatre Anthropology
IMPROVISATION
WROCLAW, POLAND

This 14th meeting of the International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA) will take place at the Center for the Study of Jerzy Grotowski's Work in Wroclaw, Poland—the site of Grotowski's Polish Laboratory Theatre. Under the direction of Eugenio Barba, ISTA will deal with "Improvisation, Memory, Repetition, Discontinuity." As Barba writes, "Remember to improvise; make sure that something emerges unexpectedly from within the forms you have fixed." ISTA includes practical work, performances, lectures, symposia, and demonstrations.
