Preface

With this issue, Hypatia has a new look. We thank the folks at IUP, especially Kate Caras, for initiating this make-over.

We would like to take this opportunity to make a plug for the Hypatia International Fund. For many years, the Editors and Editorial Board of Hypatia have collected donations among themselves and members of the larger community of feminist philosophers in order to send complimentary subscriptions of Hypatia to women's research centers and libraries in Eastern Europe and Africa. Below is a list of the places that are now receiving the journal through this fund. Each subscription costs approximately $25 per year. Periodically, we ask our readers to help us continue these subscriptions by contributing to this fund. Contributions to the Hypatia InternationalFund are tax-deductible in the US and can be sent to our Oregon office address (see guidelines for contributors). Also, if there is an institution that you would like to see receive a complimentary subscription, please let us know. We will expand the list below when funds are available. We are grateful for your past and future support.
