Ann R. Gabbert's article, "Prostitution and Moral Reform in the Borderlands: El Paso, 1890-1920," published in the Journal of the History of Sexuality 12, no. 4 (October 2003): 575-604, was the winner of the Joan Jensen-Darlis Miller Prize for the best article published in 2003 on the history of women west of the Mississippi. The prize was awarded by the Coalition for Western Women's History at the annual meeting of the Western Historical Association in Las Vegas, 13-16 October 2004.
