Hosam Aboul-Ela, Assistant Professor of English at the University of Houston, teaches World Literatures. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Egypt from September 1994 to June 1995.

Michael Keren is Professor and Canada Research Chair in Communication, Culture, and Civil Society at the University of Calgary.

Juan Velasco, Associate Professor of English and Modern Languages at the University of Santa Clara, teaches courses in contemporary Latin American and Chicana/o literature and film. His current research fields are Chicana/o literature, border studies, and creative writing, and his recent publications include the foreword for Under the Fifth Sun: Latino Literature from California (2002), and Las fronteras móviles: tradición y modernidad en la Literatura Chicana contemporánea (2003). He is at work on American Me: A Study on Contemporary Chicana/o Autobiography.
