Jim Lochner is a research scientist at Goddard Space Flight Center’s XTE Guest Observer Facility. In his spare time, he enjoys collecting and telling star-lore tales from mythology and Native American traditions.
Padi Boyd, a research scientist at Goddard’s Universities Space Research Association, also enjoys a cappella singing.
A scientist and software engineer at Goddard’s Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics (LHEA), Paul Butterworth still sometimes dreams of walking on Mars.
Bonnie J. Buratti is a research scientist in the Division of Earth and Space Sciences at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In addition to doing research and teaching, she is raising three children.
An accomplished pianist and science fiction fan, Koji Mukai is a research scientist at Goddard’s ASCA Guest Observer Facility.
Finally ready for prime time, Steve Snowden is an associate research scientist at the Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics (LHEA), where he works with the ROSAT project. ROSAT, an orbiting observatory which images X-rays, is a joint German, British, and U.S. collaboration.
Yvonne Pendleton is an astrophysicist at NASA Ames Research Center. When not visiting distant telescopes, analyzing data, or spending time with her children, she is the resident astronomer at her children’s school, giving demonstrations and answering questions posted to “The Astronomer’s Mailbag.”
