Within the current deliberations about the core curriculum of general education in higher education, a new concept, information literacy, is gaining attention and being added to the mix. Information literacy in the 21st century is going to be an integral part of culture and a cultural change agent. As such, information literacy stands on its own as an important core component to the general education.
