From the Editor

As promised in the last issue, which was devoted to papers from the 2001 EDIS conference in Trondheim, this issue includes one more paper from that meeting, Ruth Owen Jones's biographical article on William Clark. An additional five papers from the conference are scheduled to appear in a forthcoming issue of the Women's Studies Journal.

In this issue also you may notice some changes in personnel and presentation. After several years of admirable service Brad Ricca has stepped down as managing editor of the Emily Dickinson Journal, to be replaced by Carrie Shanafelt. With her first issue Carrie presides over a minor makeover in our format, including a shift to what we hope you will find a more pleasing and legible typeface.
