  • Editor’s Note
  • Elizabeth A. Clark

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Everett Ferguson for his service to JECS as co-editor from the journal’s inception. His thoughtful advice, good sense, and knowledge of journal editing were important to the journal’s early success. Joining me now as co-editor is J. Patout Burns of Vanderbilt University, whose wide knowledge of the field and administrative skills will be valuable to the continued flourishing of JECS.

I also would like to thank Kathleen Onofrio of the Journals Division of The Johns Hopkins University Press, who is now leaving her position for a new career. As our editorial liaison at the Press for the past three years, Kathy has ensured that the journal was published in a timely fashion. The editors have greatly appreciated her cheerful efficiency and her interest in the journal’s operations. Carol Hamblen, who worked with JECS during its first years, will assume editorial responsibility for the journal once more. We warmly welcome her back to our company.
